On April 10, 2024, the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI) hosted another insightful online training session for its members, focused on the topic: “HACCP Systems for Small Wineries.”

The training was conducted by Ani Chutlashvili, consultant and trainer at the Food Safety Alliance.

This session marked part of the Food Safety Alliance’s new initiative launched in 2024, titled “Winemaking and HACCP.” The project is designed to support the implementation of HACCP and hygiene standards across wineries of all sizes—from small family-owned cellars to larger-scale producers.

The training covered:

An introduction to food safety principles

Basic prerequisite programs for winery hygiene and sanitation

The structure and implementation of HACCP systems

The topics generated strong interest among participants, highlighting the growing awareness and importance of food safety practices in Georgia’s wine sector.
