Association "Women in Wine Industry" Becomes Beneficiary of German Government Project

29/01/2024

On January 29, 2024, the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI) participated in the official presentation of the “GCCI for the Digitalization of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses” project—an initiative funded by the German government and implemented by the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).

As one of the selected beneficiaries, WIWI joins a group of 50 businesses across Georgia chosen for the project’s first phase, which began with a comprehensive needs assessment. Based on these assessments, tailored training programmers were developed to support the digital transformation of each enterprise.

Importantly, the programmer welcomed participation from businesses outside of Tbilisi, promoting inclusive access to innovation and capacity building throughout the country.

WIWI was also awarded a grant as part of the initiative, which will be used to digitize the operations of its member winemakers. This marks a significant advancement for Georgian women in wine, helping them adopt digital tools to manage, market, and grow their businesses more effectively in a modern, competitive landscape.
