Preparation for the Event 'Women Without Borders'"

21/11/2022

As part of its ongoing international outreach, the Women in Wine Industry (WIWI) Association prepared for a significant journey to Poland, where on December 3rd and 4th, the city of Krakow hosted an exhibition showcasing the wines of 20 Georgian women winemakers. This event marked an important step in promoting Georgian wine in the European market.

At the exhibition, Georgian participants were provided with a dedicated tasting space, where they presented their wines to Polish sommeliers, bloggers, industry professionals, and wine enthusiasts. The event served as a valuable opportunity to highlight the distinctiveness and exceptional quality of Georgian wine to a broader European audience.

Ahead of the trip, WIWI members held a preparatory meeting to discuss logistics, the event program, and long-term strategic goals—particularly the importance of strengthening Georgian wine exports and positioning women-led wineries on the international stage.

The meeting was also attended by Tamar Metreveli, Head of the Marketing Department of the National Wine Agency, who provided insights and support related to the event’s execution.

The Krakow event was organised by Manana Akhvlediani and Maia Katsitadze, co-founders of the WIWI Association, in collaboration with Keto Prangulaishvili, founder of the Polish wine company Lile. The project was fully funded and supported by the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
