Laboratory Analysis of Wine

18/07/2023

On July 17, 2023, members of the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI) participated in a specialised training on “Laboratory Analysis of Wine.” The session included both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical exercises, designed to enhance participants’ understanding of wine quality control and analytical techniques.

Due to high demand and strong interest from members, the training was delivered in multiple stages to ensure deeper engagement and tailored guidance.

The training was hosted by the Sarajishvili Company, which generously provided access to its in-house laboratory facilities. The session was led by Maia Katsitadze and Giga Kuchava, heads of Sarajishvili’s Technological Department, who guided participants through key aspects of wine composition, testing methods, and interpretation of analytical results.

The programme was conducted with the support of the Private Sector Development and Vocational Education in the South Caucasus (PSD TVET SC) initiative—implemented in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in cooperation with national ministries and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
